Course Overview

This continuing education course is designed to help veterinarians, veterinary technicians and the practice staff talk to their clients about money in ways that can benefit their pets and the veterinary practice. During the course, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how pet owners are spending money on their pets as well as other trends affecting the veterinary industry. They’ll also learn about solution-based strategies and tactics to address financial issues with clients that can help their business thrive. This course is appropriate for all members of the veterinary team.

Karyn Gavzer, MBA, CVPM

About the Author

Karyn is a speaker, writer and practice management consultant specializing in marketing, training and customized solutions for veterinary practices. Her mission is to help practices “go and grow” with new ideas and practical plans.

She has worked with industry, associations, and veterinary practices for 20 years. She is best known as the former director of marketing for the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) where she created public campaigns with industry, such as “Pets Need Dental Care, Too” and training programs to help veterinarians and their teams market their services more effectively. Karyn has an MBA and is one of less than 400 certified veterinary hospital managers (CVPM) in North America. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and a founder of VetPartners, the association of veterinary practice management consultants and advisors.

Karyn is particularly well known for helping practices with strategic planning and implementing improvements from the AAHA compliance study. She is a popular, engaging speaker and was named the North American Veterinary Conference Practice Management Speaker of the year and the Western Veterinary Conference Practice Management Educator of the Year .
